In the afternoon, the weather had brightened up from the slightly drizzly morning, so I decided to go up to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. However, when I got there, I changed my mind and decided to go to see the Botanic Gardens instead, which were just a bit further along.

The Botanic Garden is right in the centre of the city, with the US Capitol building and the Washington Monument next door.
Sunset
The sunset was very pretty, and the sunlight was still catching the aeroplanes that were taking off over Washington.
